Exhibit Guide

Hours: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., weekdays, when school field trips are scheduled; additional hours may be authorized on occasion to staff special events.

Pay: Starting at $8.25/hr

Qualifications: Candidates must have completed high school, some college classes would be helpful. Candidates should be personable and enjoy working with students of all ages, showing enthusiasm for science and math while promoting SciTech’s mission. Bilingual ability is desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors, promoting an environment conducive to curiosity and problem solving through SciTech's hands-on exhibits.
  • Work as a team to make the school group experience at SciTech organized, enjoyable, and educational.
  • Prepare the exhibits for opening, performing minor repairs as needed and perform all necessary floor operations for field trips such as answering questions, performing science shows, and encouraging the children to explore and discover.
  • Be available to our visitors, perform scheduled science shows, assist our visitors in the outdoor park area as needed.
  • Attend orientation and training sessions to enhance understanding of the science concepts behind the exhibits and to insure accuracy in the information presented.
  • Miscellaneous duties such as staffing the gift shop and answering the phone will be assigned by the Supervisor as needed.
